Our Regular or Stated Meeting is the First Tuesday of every month at 7:30 PM (in July and August we are Dark). We meet in the historic Salt Lake City Masonic Center, 650 E. South Temple Street, Salt Lake City, Utah. Our usual meeting
room is the Colonial Room on the second floor.
All recognized Masons are welcome to visit us.
The name of "Argenta" Lodge is derived from the Latin word "Argentum", meaning "of silver" and was chosen because of all the mines in Utah producing piles of silver in the late 1800s. Our lodge
was started in 1871 by the silver miners living in the Salt Lake area.
The original charter came from The Grand Lodge of Colorado. Argenta Lodge #21 was constituted on September 26, 1871.
On January 16th, 1872, The Grand Lodge of the Territory of Utah was
formed from the three Salt Lake Lodges: Wasatch Lodge #8 (chartered by the Grand Lodge of Montana), Mt. Moriah Lodge #70 (chartered by the Grand Lodge of Kansas) and Argenta Lodge #21 (Colorado). These lodges became
Wasatch #1, Mt. Moriah #2 and Argenta #3.
